We were staying with Rita and Tiago, with this scary warning in the lift of their apartment block:
We went with some of them to Sintra:
where we proceeded to get 'not lost!':
because we could see the 'castles' on the horizon:
but I don't think we actually got there ... however, the view to the Royal Palace in the town was great:
And of course, there were decorative tiles everywhere, including in the railway station:
